Pinning

Pin a note, file, or web page to a session — focusing the session automatically opens the pinned tab in the editor.

Pinning attaches an editor tab to a session. When you focus that session, the pinned tab automatically opens in the editor panel — keeping your most important reference always one click away.

What can be pinned

Any editor tab type:

  • Files (local or remote SFTP)
  • Notes
  • Web pages
  • Jira tickets
  • Playbooks
  • Rendezvous rooms (Spaces)
  • Media

Each session can have one pinned tab.

How to pin

Drag and drop — drag an editor tab from the tab bar and drop it onto a session card in the sidebar. The drop target highlights during drag-over.

How to unpin

Two options:

  • Hover the pin chip on the session card and click the × button.
  • Right-click the session card and choose Unpin ‹title›.

Behavior

  • Focusing a session (click, keyboard shortcut, or workscape restore) auto-opens the pinned tab in the editor.
  • Pins persist across restarts — they're saved with your workscape profile.
  • Pinning won't yank you out of a maximized terminal — the editor opens alongside it.
